Baby Conner: Week 31

January 29, 2013

How I’m Feeling: What a week. Being pregnant is really starting to wear me down. I’m exhausted all the time and doing small tasks is starting to get hard. Lucas and I went to the movies a few nights ago and even just sitting in a movie theatre chair for 2 hours was exhausting, when we left the theatre I told him that I was going to have to take a nap when we got home. I’m actually really loving this time of being pregnant, because Logan is sooo active right now and it’s fun to feel him, but I miss my energy. Speaking of Logan’s movements, let me just tell you that I think this little man is having rock parties or something in my tum-tum. My belly has been bouncing around everywhere! And it happens all the time. He used to be a pretty quiet baby, but the last few days he has decided that sleeping is for the birds and doing jumping jacks is way cooler. I’m still dealing with an awful sinus infection that I’ve had for a month now. I wish I could just get rid of it because it is starting to kill my brain. I’m hoping the doc will give me a new remedy when we see her today since I’ve been dealing with it for so long. Fingers crossed. The other thing I’ve been having a hard time with this week is breathing. Normal breathing is starting to become a HUGE chore. I feel like I just can’t get a big enough breath and it’s starting to send me in to panic attack mode. I keep trying to take big, slow breaths, but sometimes that just doesn’t help. My heart starts to race and I start to freak out – - – another thing I’ll be talking to the doctor about.

How I’m Changing: Waddling is starting to happen. It’s not a full on waddle walk, but I can definitely feel that my hips are shifting and walking normal is starting to change. Balance is also being thrown out the window. Little dude is slowly starting to drop though. I used to feel really cramped right underneath my bra line and now I’m starting to feel a lot more room there, which feels amazing. This week my workouts have kind of changed. First, it’s hard for me to get up the energy to actually workout. And second, running hasn’t happened. It’s starting to feel uncomfortable to run, so I’ve been doing a lot of walking instead. My interest in food is also really starting to change. I don’t ever really have any specific thing that I want to eat, and trying to think of something to eat is taking forever. I also get full really fast, wondering if it’s because Logan is getting big and starting to take up all my food space.

What I’m Eating/What I’m Not Eating: Yogurt with fruit and bowls of cereal have been a big staple. Eggs are back on the list. And avocados with cheese are a fav. Chocolate milk, dates and peanut butter, sour cream and onion chips, and handfuls of chocolate chips are also being consumed. I’m still on red meat hiatus and granola bars sound yucky.

Total Weight Gained: Still 22 lbs (Starting: 123 – Current: 145)
Workouts: Prenatal Yoga, walking, Tone It Up
Sleep: Ok, just a lot of tossing and turning from side to side
Most Exciting Moment: Watching Logan bounce around
Baby is the Size of a: A head of romaine lettuce
Fun Fact: Baby is opening and closing his eyes
Miss Anything? Breathing

You’re absolutely glowing! I remember I kept waiting for my daughter to “drop” so I could get some relief in my ribs. Turns out she was so long she was all the way down and her feet were still in my ribs. Oy vie. Good luck these last few weeks!

It’s hard to imagine that you’d be much of a runner once the baby gets to that size! I bet lunges would be killer ;) I had a pregnant lady in my zumba class who was like, minutes away from giving birth, and I could not believe how well she could move! Perhaps they exaggerate the pregnancy stance on TV and movies. At least the food you’re eating now sounds amazing!
