Photo/Video Organization

July 12, 2017

Sometimes I love that we can take so many pictures with just the touch of a finger tip. But other times I really miss my disposable camera or film loaded camera.

It’s amazing to be able to take 100 pictures of Holly eating a popsicle, or Logan playing in the sprinkler. I’m capturing more memories of my kids than I ever thought possible. But, the downside is, that they’re all on my phone. I feel like I almost take pictures for granted. I barely have any of them printed out. I don’t have any stored. And as the days keep going I’m just taking more and more pictures without fully getting the most use out of them.

So, I’ve decided to try and make a change to that. I really want to try and make a conscious effort to clear them off my phone, get them in some simple picture/scrap books, print them out and put them in a few frames around house, and make sure that I have hard back ups, in case anything crashes on me.

Who would’ve imagined that something as simple as pictures could turn in to such a huge and almost overwhelming process. I almost don’t even know where to begin.

I did some research on Pinterest….does Pinterest now count as a reliable resource [oh brother], and found some really good ideas. I haven’t completely come up with my plan, but I think I’m going with a mix of these two [ option1 and option2 ]. Here’s to crossing my fingers, and really working hard to be a better picture manager.

How do you keep your pictures organized? — and videos….because I actually feel waaaaay more lost with what to do with all the videos on my phone.

Try out Lifecake! It’s amazing. Plus I’m going to try to do a photo book for every year.
