I love a good PSL just as much as anybody else.

But, there’s a few things about it that I don’t love about the ones that are sold out of the hippest drive through window. #1 -fake pumpkin…I mean come on, can we just open up a can of the real stuff? #2 – the cost. yowzers. I don’t even feel good about buying one a week. A month of the green mermaid drinks is like half of my weekly grocery budget money. #3 besides being a warm drink on a cold day, there’s no added benefit to my health for what I’m drinking [quite honestly it’s probably a hinderance]. And when I look at it that way, I know that there’s something better I can be doing to get that PSL fix.

And that better thing, is to make it at home!!

Yes, ok, I actually have to make it and not have it handed to me. But, I kind of like it! Because now I get to control the amount of milk, pumpkin spice, and whipped cream. Sometimes there’s always too much of one and not the other. Plus, I can use my in-home coconut/almond milk blend. I can use the lower calorie whipped cream. I can “skinnify” my PSL.

And I can add my secret ingredient to it. Thieves oil!! This is what makes my in home PSL pack an immunity punch that no other cup ‘o joe out there can boast. Thieves helps to clear your body of bad germs and give your immunity system a serious one up. With cold and flu season upon us, this is gonna be your saving grace. Plus, Thieves is like all things holiday packed in to one jar. When you add a drop in to your PSL, it gives it that perfect cozy, warm hug, feeling that we all crave from our cup.

Here’s what you need:
+ 1 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)
+ 1.5 tbsp pumpkin puree
+ 1 shot of espresso or 4 oz of very strong coffee
+ 1 tsp honey or agave
+ 1 drop of thieves vitality essential oil
Combine milk, pumpkin, and espresso in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir often, until it starts to simmer.
Remove from heat, add the honey or agave, and let it
cool for about 5 minutes. Add 1 drop of thieves vitality essential oil, and stir thoroughly.
Pour into a cup, and enjoy! Top with whipped cream for even more fun!!
