What A Pregnant Lady Eats

January 3, 2013

So, I thought it’d be fun to take you on a little journey of what I eat in a day!

…of course I didn’t want to be accountable for everything so there’s some pictures missing here, but I’ll try and fill in the gaps with my best recollection of what was shoved in my mouth.

5:00 AM – Rise and shine
I always have a little munchy snack in the morning when I wake up, so here’s my chunk of rice cake with peanut butter and raisins and a mug of hot water spiked with some lemon, honey and apple cider vinegar

6:00 AM – Boredom
I’m not totally ready for breakfast yet, but tummy is GROWLING, so I eat a handful of almonds…and maybe a random bite of a cookie

7:30 AM – Break-y Time
Ok, I can’t wait anymore so breakfast time is declared. A bowl of yogurt mixed with oats, banana, and blueberries topped with some Panda Puffs and peanut butter hard shell

11:00 AM – Morning Snack
Come mid morning I am starving again, practically feeling like I haven’t eaten all day, this is the worst time of the day for me because I am so hungry that I feel like I’m about to turn in to a crazy person. Orange and a cup of coffee with soy milk helped get me to lunch

1:00 PM – Lunch Break
Salads are a must for lunch, I usually always have one, and then I need some carbs and protein. Today’s choice was an omelet quesadilla. Don’t forget the pickle on the side!

2:00 PM – Chocolate Attack
It comes out of no where, the sudden urge to have a bite of chocolate. I keep my desk stocked with little mini chocolate candy bars, and allow myself to have one after lunch.

4:00 PM – Snack Time Part Deux
Not crazy hungry, but need a little sweetness and dates stuffed with peanut butter are perfect!

7:00 PM – Suppa
Tonight it was pizza, I was good though and kept myself to a slice [then when back for another half a slice]. Veggies on the side are a no brainer…totally cancels out that other half a slice. I think I had two chicken wings too.

9:00 PM – Bed Time Prep
To help me get a good night’s sleep I chug a little chocolate soy milk before bed

And that is a foodie day in the life of a pregnant lady!

One of my coworkers always eats rice cakes with peanut butter. I always thought it was weird until one day I was home and hungry and gave it a try. Now it’s one of my favorite snacks. I like to use Planters Nut-trition peanut butter. I like your addition of raisins, I’ll have to try other goodies on the rice cakes! Happy new year, Steph!

I am impressed! Not that I shouldn’t be, you always make well balanced food – but all those veggies and healthy stuff. Good for you!
