Flying Ghosts – toddler Halloween activity

October 2, 2017

Happy OCTOBER!!!

Who’s jumping up and down [in leaves] that we can finally bring out all things pumpkin. Ughhhhh, MEEEE!! I think the older I get, the more and more October just finds a special place in my heart. Honestly, more than anything I think it’s because I just can’t handle the heat. Something about being old, not out running through sprinklers everyday, that just makes summer so overrated.

So, to kick off all things fall, we got out our Halloween decorations and started looking up Halloween activities on Pinterest. Gotta love Pinterest to help give you ideas of fun things to do with your kids.

We made a few ghost shapes, we painted so spooky trees, but the coolest was our flying ghosts made from tea bags.

Oh em gee, you guys. Seriously. This was just the coolest thing. Both Logan and Holly got a huge kick out of it. All you have to do is basically cut the top off the tea bag, dump out the tea, unfold it, stand it up, and light the top of it on fire. And then, as the tea bag burns, it starts to float up in the air. The kids started squealing as soon as our little ghost started floating up.

They loved it so much that we ended up doing it six more times.

You can see a better break down of it here, but this is such a fun activity, that you’ve got to do it with your little ones.
